Unfortunately, many people still fall into the scams and rips offs when searching for Affiliate programs to promote. This article will show you how to avoid them and what to look for when searching for that right Affiliate program.
One of the first things to do is to see how many others have joined that Affiliate program. Normally when it has a large base of Affiliates, it is a good sign that the program is above board and it can be trusted.
One major benefit of of joining an Affiliate program is that it will allow you to work short hours and build up an additional income online. Some people have gone on to earn millions of dollars using Affiliate programs and many of these people now offer training to help others achieve huge success online.
Make sure you understand the product and program so you know exactly what you need to do in order to generate an income. This part is essential so you know how much time and in some cases, how much money you may need to begin promoting.
Try to choose a program that you already have an interest in. I am sure there is something in your life that you like doing or you have a vast knowledge of already, so look in that area first as your experience will come in useful.
Choose a high quality product and program. One maybe that has some top experts giving their reviews and assistance. This will help you in building up your knowledge base and put you on the fast track to becoming an expert yourself.
If the product is "real" then that will also help. Look at all the testimonials available as this will also help you to decide if the product really does what it says it does and will give you more credibility when promoting.
Try to ensure you choose a marketplace that is growing. It would be a shame to do all your research and decide on a program only to find that no-one is actively searching for your products. Forums are a good place to see if the products are popular and in demand and also check out Yahoo Answers to see if people are searching for answers related to your products.
Of course an Affiliate program which has a recurring charge each month would be best, however this is not always possible. Check out those programs that do have a monthly cost as this will allow you to earn a commission each month without having to sell more products.
Ensure that the program you choose does not have any special requirements you need to achieve before earning. This could hold you back and if one month you do not meet the requirements, it could mean missing out on commissions, so make sure you check first.
All good Affiliate programs have many tools and resources for you to use when promoting. If you choose one without these, it means you have to do all the work yourself.
Some programs already have successful systems in place to make your life easier. Others allow people to upgrade their products and you could earn an extra commission if this happens. Try to make sure your program you choose allows you access to view your statistics. This helps you to see how much you have made and also how many people are actually visiting your Affiliate website.
Some programs offer contests on a regular basis and many have some great prizes to be won. Others will also offer incentives to it's Affiliates to encourage them to promote more. Help and support from the program owners is of course essential and this will be made clear if contest or incentives are offered.
Maybe try and contact other Affiliates in the program to get their views. Forums normally have opinions published on many programs so do your checking.
Lastly, always try to learn as much as you can about the program and products you are promoting. Many people will ask you questions so you need to make sure you have the answers ready for them.
Above all, take action once you have decided on a program, as doing nothing will result in nothing being earned.

Before creating a webpage it would be in your best interests to learn what exactly goes into creating an excellent such page. You should be clear about what the main elements are and how you can use these elements in creating outstanding Webpages. Perhaps the first consideration that you need to actively pay close attention to is the keywords being used in the web page.
Great keywords can become the nucleus of your web page and so you need to first of all know how to create pertinent and effective keywords, and then know how best to place them on your web page. There is no denying the fact that properly chosen keywords will add to the success of your web pages and so you must first of all research them to be sure that you only use the right keywords.
If you wish, you can use software such as Wordtracker or Good Keywords or even NicheBot in order to create the right keywords. Once you have created useful and relevant keywords, you then need to focus on placing them in the most appropriate places within your web pages. Thus, whatever else you do, don't forget to place the keyword in the web page's title.
Next, you must ensure that the keyword is included in your web page's topmost headline and perhaps even in the URL of your website because that will aid the search engines as well as surfers to find your website a lot more quickly.
Remember that the success of your website depends a lot on where you place the keywords in your web pages because it is only through proper placement will you make search engines find your web pages and also identify them as being relevant to searched-for terms.
Thus, the keyword must appear at least one time in the page title to make the web page more relevant for the search engine. After ensuring that the keyword also is placed in the headline, you need to put it at the beginning of a paragraph and also ensure that such paragraph placements are done evenly and not made too repetitive.
Since keywords rule the roost as far as search engines are concerned, properly placed keywords will help get your webpage higher rankings and thus more visibility that in turn should boost your online business further.

Every website that is successful has good meta tags. Wondering what Meta tags are? They are a set of tags that are placed in your websites HTML header. Meta tags are designed to provide the search engines with information about your website. It is critical that your website is listed with the search engines and your Meta tags are a key player in achieving this. If you do not have a good listing with the search engines, then you will not get the traffic you need to your site.
The Meta tag is the place where you tell the search engines what your site is about. There are various meta tags. The description meta tag is like first impressions for your website. When a surfer types in a search term in one of the search engines, a list of sites comes up, and the surfer, sees a description of the websites. Which site will you go to? You will most likely go to the one[s] that has a compelling description that draws you in, right? That description is the meta tag of your website. A good one means a lot of traffic, a poor ones means little traffic. You need to put some thought into this description.
Your description needs to be relevant to the site. In just a few words, it needs to convey what a visitor can get from using the website. The description needs to relate to the body and title of the site. Different pages can have different meta tags. They don't all have to share one description.
You want to keep your keywords in your description, at least the main ones, but you do not want your entire description to just be a repetition of those keywords. The description needs to be full sentences that convey a complete thought and that are free of grammatical and spelling errors.
You don't have many words to work with so you need to get the point. Typically, your description will be 15 to 25 words, or 2 to 3 short sentences. There might not be a maximum rule but there are only so many spaces in the search engine field before you run out. And there is nothing worse than your description being cut off in a search.
The most important Meta tag is the keyword Meta tag. This is the one the search engines really pay attention to. Here you'll put together a list of words that are key to your site. Put some effort into this. Keywords are what are going to bring your website up in a search and the better your website is fine-tuned, the better your visitors will be targeted. Make use of these valuable words and match them to your site.
Meta tags are an important element for the code for every website. Pay close attention to what you are doing and use them wisely. Choose good Meta tags for your website and you will be rewarded with targeted traffic and a good standing in the search engines.

When working with my clients, I am always asked, what can we do to increase our search engine rankings without having to do too much work on our end? Well, there are definitely some small things you can do that have large impacts on your search engine rankings; you just have to know exactly what to do and how to do it properly.
The first thing you need to focus on is your title tag, your site description, your site keywords, h1 tags, and keyword density. If you have already done the research and chosen the keywords that you will be targeting, the rest is pretty straightforward. Basically, all you need to do is make sure that the keywords you are targeting are in your title tag, description, keywords, h1 tags, and sprinkled throughout the text of your website. You must be careful to place these keywords strategically though; it looks really spammy if you just have the blatant keywords in every place that you need them. Try to write complete sentences for your title tag, site description, and h1 tags to show Google that you are on their team and will play by their rules. If you cooperate with Google, they will be good to you and your website.
Another thing that is very important is your internal link structure. Most people have never heard of this or know what it is. Take a look at the footer of your website? Is there anything there other than a copyright notification? Throw some of your keywords that you are trying to target down in the footer and have them link back to your home page. Do this on every page of your website and see your website move up in the rankings the next time Google spiders your site. You should also see what links on each page you can.
Greg Shuey is an expert SEO. Through much research and practice, he and his team at Web Vizion are a sure choice for your Search Engine Optimization needs.
From my experience, people who try to increase the flow of organic traffic to their websites domain will at some point attempt a whole bunch of “optimisation techniques” without knowing if any of it really has had, or is having, any effect at all. Some of the SEO techniques I have seen people attempt are, whilst quite useless, based on a good idea. Other methods continually amaze me. Perhaps people that try such things have heard spurious rumours of how to get their site into Google’s top ten listings from certain forums. Incidentally they are probably at such a point of desperation that they are willing to try anything to gain just ten more visits.
I am regularly inundated with the same questions such as: Is it worth submitting my site to 300 search engines? Will I get penalised for cross linking my sites? Should I pay to have high ranking sites link to mine? And what exactly does Google page rank do, if anything!?
Questions such as these have driven me into despair and consequently writing this article during which i will attempt to explain definitively the more common SEO myths, risks and pitfalls. In this article we will examine some of the more common beliefs.
Before we get to the list it is worth noting that I have not written it in a particular order and at times I have explained the topic the myth concerns before answering the question.
Link Building
Q)Will the more links that point to my website increase my sites placement in search engines?
It will help your website as far as the major search engines are concerned. The most popular search engines use the number of links aimed towards a website as an important factor in determining the sites placement. They look for your link to be coming from sites with; high traffic, quality content and a high page rank, amongst other things. Do no cross link, do not spam your address in forums and on social networks and do not put it on irrelevant sites, or even those that seem slightly dodgy. Take your time, aim for directories that are related to your website, aim for directories with page rank 3+ or aim for blogs or similar sites that are relevant to your content.
Q)Is it worth me buying a place on a high ranking directory?
So the idea with this is that, say, a directory has a Google page rank of 7 and is very popular. Any site on it will be getting a big rub off via a higher spot on search engine rankings. However the catch is the directory charges £50 a month for your listing. Is it worth it when there are so many free directories out there?
Personally I think it is worth it, as long as the site holds its high rank and doesn't have thousands of listings competing with yours on it. The added bonus with pay for listings is that they usually review and include your site very quickly (24hours), which by itself may be worth paying for. And if you could buy 10 spots on decent directories your site will most likely become highly ranked on search engine results.
There are problems with this though. Firstly, it is said to be against Google’s terms of service – paying to get a higher listing on Google’s organic results. (Google want their results to show the best and most relevant websites, not those with the most money behind them) They are however, unlikely to be too bothered even if they do find out.
The next problem is the cost. For a small company or personal website it is too expensive to pay monthly for many directories to list them, and possibly not worth it. Lastly, it is not guaranteed to help your website. It should, but does not always. I have paid for listings before and noticed very little difference, whilst other times it has made a huge contribution to my sites ranking. So it may be a risk, but it can pay off extremely well.
Q)Will submitting a video about my site or product to places such as Youtube be of benefit to me?
A recent link building trend has been to submit a short video describing the webmasters site or the service it provides, to as many video submission sites as possible. The theory behind this being that search engines give more weight in their results to pages with videos. So if your site or product has a video on Youtube, when that product is searched for on the web that video will often come up in the top ten results. If this video has a link to your site in it, under it or as nearby as you can put it, it should be good news for you and your site. People find the video as it is ranked so highly in the results, watch the video, like what they see and then visit your site to perhaps purchase what they saw.
Does it work? At the time of writing, yes it does and it is probably worth doing. Make a video, even if it is just text, sound or a power point presentation, and then submit it to as many video and social networking sites as possible. People will find it and it will hopefully persuade them to visit your site. The only real problem with this being that the search engines will not like all of the “video spam” now being posted on the internet and are likely to change (lower) the priority of videos in their results.
Google Page Rank
Q)Will having a higher Google page rank increase the number of visitors to my site?
Before we can answer that we will have to look at what exactly Google page rank is. Google page rank is a spurious form of measurement for site popularity that the company introduced fairly recently. It is unknown to everyone, except possibly Google, how exactly it ranks sites. It is assumed however that its ranks depend upon on a mixture of traffic a site receives, external links pointing towards it and the content it contains. New websites may not have a page rank for many months. It is also possible to have a very successful website with thousands of visitors and sales and still not being ranked highly, if at all. This is because Google only ranks pages once every few months, probably around once every four-five months. So if you start your website and straight off advertise heavily you might recieve a high volume of traffic but it may still take months for Google to look at your site and rank it accordingly. Also, as a sites rank is dependent on more than just traffic l!
evels, in that scenario your site may still be ranked lowly once it is eventually seen.
To see a websites Google page rank you can download the Google toolbar and then once it is installed right click on it and select show page rank.
So back to the myth – Does having a higher Google page rank mean more visits to your site? Well, yes and no. No, because it alone doesn't actually have any effect on search placement, and as such won’t increase traffic. Yes, because indirectly it will benefit your site. If you have a high page rank Google will prioritise your site and check back often to see if anything has changed, such as content, giving you a good chance to increase your standing with the search engine. Another benefit is that both people and sites are more willing to trust websites that have a high Google rank. For example, if you are submitting your site to directories you will want to submit it to a high Google rank directory as Google will check them more regularly and take more notice of them and their content (which will be your link). So indirectly, a high Google rank should mean more visits for your site.
Buying in Traffic
Q)Is it worth me buying 10000 hits for £££/$$$?
OK, we have all seen the adverts in our email promising thousands of targeted visits for an amazingly cheap cost. And at one point or another we have all been depressed enough to be tempted by them. But just say no.
The idea is, for say 100 pounds (or 200 dollars), a traffic company will direct ten thousand or so visitors to your site who are actually interested in your content. It sounds great and some companies will actually provide what they say as far as traffic to your site is concerned. However I have never found one where the traffic is actually targeted and people even bother to look around my sites. Often it turns out to be a robot that is obviously not going to look or buy anything from me. If not it may be that thousands of unfortunate people have had a dozen pop up windows attack them as they bravely try to fight them off. I may be generalising slightly with this, but usually the people that are directed or redirected to your website will want nothing more than to close it down.
It could possibly work for you if your site instantly captures people and most of your money is made off advertising that these people quickly click on before closing you down. However do not attempt to use bought traffic whilst using Google Adsense on your site as it is against their rules and your account might be terminated without warning. Another possible benefit is that some search engines rank sites based on incoming traffic, thus 10000 more hits by anybody may actually boost your rankings. However, this is unlikely to fool search engines such as Google or Yahoo!.
Cross Linking
Q)What is Cross Linking?
Cross linking is a webmaster practice whereby a person owns many domains, uploads an identical site to each and then heavily links each domain to the others. For example, person A registers lotsofhits, com, but is not getting enough traffic. To fool the search engines into thinking it is a popular website he registers a hundred more domains, so each will have different web addresses but all have the duplicate page content of lotsofhits, com, and all of them link to one another. This in theory should boost the pages rank, as Google, along with other search engines, determine the importance of a site based on links from outside websites pointing to it(along with a few other things). It would also mean that there are a hundred more sites on the web that sell the same product as lotsofhits, com that could all possibly be found.
Q)Will Cross Linking my site(s) be penalised by search engines?
This is not a myth - search engines often penalise or even temporarily ban sites that Cross Link. If Google detect completely duplicate content on even just two sites that link to each other, then they will at least lower your page and result rankings, if not ban both sites.
Q)I heard cross linking is fine as long as the sites do not have completely duplicate content. Is there any truth in this?
If you are determined to Cross Link the safest way would be to own two or three domains that link to each other but each of which have completely unique content and link to other sites as well as one another. It is hardly worth creating two or more unique sites for the sole purpose of cross linking and I would not recommend doing so anyway.
SEO Software
Q.Is it true that there is no point in doing any manual search engine optimisation or search/site submissions when you can buy software that will do it all for you?
There is a little truth behind this, but not much. Whilst certain software might make for an excellent tool in assisting your SEO campaign, in the end there you will find there is no substitute for hard work. For example you can download a program that will submit your site automatically to 10000 search engines or put a link to you web page on 50 other sites. The problems there being: only four major search engines exist and between them they take over 80% of all search engine traffic. Those search engines will find your site automatically and rank it according to, amongst other things, relevant and unique content – making the 10000 search engine submission promise redundant (even if it were true).
There are good tools available that will track your visitors (Google analytics), tell you how your site could be made more search engine friendly and software that even tracks how each of your keywords are ranked in major search engines. However, if you are purchasing such software, try to find a trustworthy independent review first so that you are sure you are not getting ripped off. Also try to make sure that any software you use does not go against Google’s terms of service.
So, whilst certain software can and will be useful to you, there is no replacement for hard work and unique content and regular updates. The search engine rankings should then take care of themselves.

Only 1 Out Of 10 Individuals Really Understands The Usage Of Blogging For Business
I'm not talking about just some well known blogging persona even who makes 4 maybe 5 figures from blogging alone. These are just quite typical definitions of usage of blogging for business.
What we would really like to explore are businesses that have not harnessed this new age kind of power yet to increase profitability in all forms of the market. Here are the 3 reasons:
Reason 1: Fastest Way To Start Shifting Your Business Online
You've seen countless of other companies start up an online website for the purpose of customer reach. Blogging is by no means any different than this except that it is certainly much faster and easier.
You do not need to spend much time on coding and generating content because certain blogging platforms make publishing contents so much easier. All you have to do is "setup a blog" and post your content.
Reason 2: Lowest Cost Of Maintenance
If you have a website you will need to consider setting up your own website content and also some coding in terms of HTML. Without any knowledge you will have to do this effectively by outsourcing.
By blogging you can just operate via a hosting service which only costs about $29 a month and then plug in your blog. All content does not need coding as you can find free "blog themes" to use anytime at a click of a button.
Reason 3: Increase Returning Customers That Will Buy
People often times like to find out what they are buying or do some tiny amount of research. This is a typical behaviour of the shoppers mentality.
One usage of blogging for business is that you can plug in an updated research you did within seconds and your blog post will show up. Your potential customer will see the constant information you provide and he or she will begin to sort of trust you based on this.
Many Other Advantages
Of course, these are just 3 reasons why you should factor in the usage of blogging for business in your own market. While there are more advantages the bottom line is that you will eventually increase your long term profits.

In order for any business website or personal website to be successful at all in their online venture one thing is absolutely critical, quality website traffic. Without quality website traffic a website simply will not meet expectations, whether those expectations be in terms of income, leads, or even just awareness. Every single article or business marketing website that you find that aims to help you be successful with your website should talk about some way of generating targeted traffic. Highly Targeted Website visitors are the lifeline for your website whether you have a business website or a personal website so do not let anyone tell you different.
You can have the world's best product advertised on your website so that it will experience an insanely high conversion rate but without targeted website traffic it just simply won't succeed. After all, no visitors = no sales. I am not saying that an excellent product cannot be successfully sold online because it is quite the opposite. Even poor products are sold in high amounts everyday online, this obviously is bad for business...but it happens and largely thanks to high quality or large amounts of website traffic. Now that you know that targeted website traffic is absolutely essential for your online success I will assume that you have your website in a state where that is ready to start receiving targeted website visitors.
The tips below will help you if you have just started your own website or if you have had one up and running for a while and you just can't seem to generate targeted traffic. Traffic generation is something that every website needs to do and if done correctly amazing results truly can occur.
High quality targeted Website Visitors are what you should be trying to get to your site. You don't want just any typical website visitor because they are very low converting since they are not targeted to being interested in your websites content (and thus not interested in your products either).
Here are some tips that will help get you off onto the right foot in terms of marketing your website.
1. You want to be listed in the search engines...and highly!
It's a fact, a first page search engine ranking for a popular keyword or keywords can generate massive amounts of highly targeted website visitors to your website. Now search engine optimization is not something that provides you with results overnight, it does take time but it will be more than worth your effort in the long run.
Think of your own actions online; you most likely use a search engine every time you look for information online and you are not alone...millions of other people who are potentially high quality targeted website visitors search for terms every single day. If you can appear at the top of the results when they search for your content related keywords and they click through to your site then there is a very good chance they will be interested in what you have to offer!
2. Pay Per Click can generate you some quick website visitors but be cautious...
Sites such as Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing are very effective ways of getting some highly targeted website traffic to your site. It is however how many people lose money because they simply do not know how to utilize it effectively. But if you know how to already or learn to use it effectively than this is an excellent method of generating quality website visitors for you.
3. Writing and submitting articles can be effective
An effective way of generating quality targeted website traffic is through article marketing because you can establish yourself as an expert in the field so your readers will trust you more. You must make sure to provide them with good information though or else they will not feel that you know what you are talking about and thus will not trust you.
If your reader enjoys your article they will click through to visit your site that you have usually placed a link to at the end of the article.
4. Link Exchange
Linking is a very important aspect that determines how your website will rank within search engine results. You will also be able to receive targeted website visitors directly through the links that you have placed on other websites too! It is kind of a win-win situation.
However, you must be careful not to spam your link to places that don't want it. You must also try to associate your website with popular sites that are relevant to the content that you provide within your site.
The more links you have going into your site, the more traffic you can expect.
5. Forums and Online Communities
This goes directly with the previous tip on link building. If you participate in forums or online communities you can generate some highly targeted website traffic because you will know that they are interested in the content you provide if you make a post on something relevant to that content.
Social networking is very huge right now and is a very effective way to not just get your link out in front of people, but because social networking sites are very popular you can actually gain excellent search engine results because of it!
6. My final tip is to always try to keyword optimize your content.
The best way to help ensure that you will receive high quality website visitors is to utilize keywords throughout your content that will not just inform them of what to expect but also allow the search engines to index your website easier.

Just Google 'forums' and the topic of your niche - and you will find all the forums you could possibly want on your subject.
Then start to get involved in the forums. Read posts. Ask questions. See who posts good content.
Start contributing. If you don't know what to say - just post a thread introducing yourself! You will get a lot of response from other members welcoming you. I clearly remember how nervous I was when I started using forums - even to say hello! But online forums are very welcoming - particularly to new members.
Very quickly you will discover you are amongst a safe and supported network of like-minded individuals.
You should aim to become actively involved with forums for two reasons.
ONE: To learn as much as you can.
TWO: to cultivate relationships with other forum members.
Look at other member's websites.
APPROACH other members direct. I do this OFTEN. See a website you like? Email them and TELL them! Very quickly you will build relationships with others in the same niche as you. There is a good reason for this which I will come onto...
I spend just a few short weeks building relationships with as many people as I can in my niche, commenting on their site, asking questions, finding out how they started etc. HARDLY ANYBODY DOES THIS!!!
And it is by far the simplest way to increase a network of contacts/friends online. Who wouldn't like an email from somebody complimenting their site?
And Now The Best Bit
Once you have spent a few weeks getting comfortable with various forums in your niche, the real fun part begins.
This next bit will take a bit more work - but the results are well worth it.
A GREAT way to build your list - is to offer something of value for free. The simplest way to do this is to write a short report.
Now - PLEASE - do not panic if you have never written something before. Remember this is a business based on relationships. By now you will have a few relationships that you have cultivated in your niche. Using the knowledge that you already have in your niche (lets use out mortgage tips example from earlier) you simply put together a few short pages of USEFUL information.
In this case - you could easily write a short report called (lets say) 4 Mortgage Tips for Beginners.
Inside your report put a number of links to your website.
You also need to mention that people are free to do whatever they want with the report - pass it on - give it away - even sell it if they wish.
What do you do next?
You GIVE this report to those people you have already built a relationship with. Simply email them direct and tell them they can use it/read it/have it etc. I have done this many times, and most people are only too happy to get something of quality that they can use - for free.
Many of your contacts will already have a website - and if you have already built a relationship with them - most will be delighted for some good quality content for free. If they have a list, allow them to send your report to their subscribers.
Post a thread on the various forums - telling of your FREE report.
Long story short - GIVE AWAY your report for FREE. This will cost you ZERO money - just a bit of time and effort (3 weeks max).
Before you know it - your report will be out there.
On the front page of your report you will have something like 'For more free information and more tips and tricks, sign up for free to www.yourwebsite.com'.
I used EXACTLY this method recently, and had 112 people join my list in just over a week, and it cost me NOTHING (except the time and effort I went to creating the report).
So, to recap:
Join the various forums (and ezines) related to your niche.
Spend a few days learning how they work.
Start contributing. Don't be scared. Ask questions. Email members. Get involved.
Start building relationships/friends in the various forums.
Create a very simple, short, free report on the same subject as your niche.
Post a thread telling of your free report.
Email the new contacts you have made about your report.
Watch as you begin to get subscribers to your site.

There are several things that you must be sure to do while you are advertising for your online home based business. The first thing that you must be sure that you are doing is to target your main audience. It is very important to figure out who your main audience is, because this will be the one factor that you have which will allow you to control who your customers are and what happens to them.
There are several ways to figure out who your customer base is. The first thing that you can do is take some surveys about who your customers are. You want to be sure that you are working with surveys that can accurately depict who is buying your product or using your service. This is a very important thing for you to consider because it will give you the maximum potential for success with your home based business.
After you have done surveys to determine who your potential customers might be, you can also check out who is using your competitors site or buying things from their business. There are lots of places to find out this information. After you have a good lock on who your customers are, you can make plans for your own advertising techniques.
The best way to advertise your online home based business from this point forward is to make sure that your advertising is directed at your main customer base. Remember that unless you have a lot of money, you will not be able to advertise for everyone. Most of the time, you will want to concentrate your advertising money on the smallest possible group of people, those that you hope will be your customers. Then, you can feel free to branch out. However, you must start with that core group.
The other thing that you want to explore when you are advertising your online home based business is how you can do free advertising. Remember that advertising is all about the exposure. You want to be sure that you can get the right type of exposure, and that means you want your name out there as much as possible. Your free advertising can come in when you are able to get your name into sites that you might not have known you'd be able to do. This can be an amazing experience, but it is part of the job that just might take you more time than you were previously aware of . For instance, you will have to sit down at your computer and find all of the places where you can plug your own site, and where you can put the name of your company. These can be any number of sites, from free directories to personal blogs. You just need to make sure that you are putting your address and your company name into as many places online as you possibly can. Every time someone clicks on your site, you might be gaining a potential customer, and this is only going to increase the value of your online home based business.
The great dream of millions of people is to start a Home Based Business. You don't have to commute, you don't have to answer to a boss and you can avoid many worthless meetings. In fact, owning your own business can produce more money than any regular job. You are able to schedule your time and not have to take personal time to run an errand. All in all it is a great way to work. There are many advantages to starting your own home based business.
That all sounds great! However, you also need to examine yourself and your work at home business. First you have to come up with an idea, then a plan and then a marketing campaign. Once this is done, you then get to implement it all. If this is done properly and with a bit of luck you are on your way to profit and success. People who fail have often not spent enough time in the planning process.
Now examine yourselves. Can you work without supervision? Can you schedule your time wisely? Do you make a plan and stick to it? If you answered yes to all three then you may have a chance. SO there we have it. It seems very simple so it's probably time to start this business. But first let's examine two types of businesses.
First there are the typical product or services business. You either provide specific products or services to clients. This can entail face to face, phone or email. Of course with products you need suppliers and some form of delivery. It may even entail inventory, so you will need storage of some type. Services are great! No inventory and no delivery. Ask yourself if you have a niche talent or expertise. Once you get customers, hopefully they will continue to use your services over and over if you are good.
Second is business on the internet. The internet is the largest possible marketing universe known. There are millions of prospects for your goods and services. Of course you need to be able to provide these while competing with millions of marketers and providers. The online Home Based Business can provide major profits in a short period of time. It can also cost you alot of money quickly.
Things to expect when you go into the internet world. If you are at like the rest of us, you start by searching the Internet for Home Business ideas. There are thousands. Then you examine a few to get a handle on what you want to do. During this process pay more attention to what you want to do as a full time business verses how you can make money fast. If it sounds like a scam, then it probably is. Think of this as you would any business. There are not any true get rich quick businesses out there. If it sounds to good to be true, then it is.
Good luck on your new business and welcome to the Small Home Business world.
Blogging is NOT a GET RICH QUICK scheme! To be a "Pro-blogger" you have to work like an "A-List blogger"! This is why YOU and I aren't (yet) A-List bloggers...
I think every now and then we all wonder why we're not an "A-list blogger". That's kind of like wishing you were in professional sports, or a rockstar, a celebrity, or a politician. It's probably becaue few people realize what it takes to get there, and even fewer are willing to do the work required to get there. Usually what happens is that jealously sets in or even worse resentment. It's at that point bloggers start giving reasons why that person "had it easy". A lot of people resent John Chow for being able to make money talking about how much money he makes. Your time would probably be better spent analyzing the reasons that they are successful and you're not!
I don't claim to be a Problogger or A-List blogger, but I can stand back and at least analyze what they're doing right to draw up a "blogging plan for success" that will eventually get me to that level.
Let's look at what an "A-List Blogger" has that YOU (and I) currently don't:
Something they're known for: It seems like every big A-List blogger is known for something that got them to the "critical mass" point of success. I know that with shoemoney the thing most know about is his $132,994.97 30 day adsense check from way back when. That's how I first found his site. With John Chow, he was the first blogger I ever remember disclosing how much money he made online on his blog. With Problogger, I remember Darren Rowse as the first blogger to go full time and claim himself as a "pro" blogger. He also co-founded B5 Media because of this.
A Distinctive Voice: This may be better described as a "writing style" but to me every blogger has their own distinctive "blogging voice". It nearly the same as book authors that write in a style that's pleasing and engaging to read. I read blogs I learn from. I read blogs that make me want to know more. I read blogs where the blogger gives me details and insight that others don't. When you have a distinctive blogging voice people become loyal readers because they want to know more about your business, your life, and what you're going to do next.
Traffic: Big-time bloggers have lots of traffic, but I always watch what they do with it. John Chow was the first one I remembered having a little dancing (banana) animation by his "releated posts" drawing your attention to them. Shoemoney is the first one I remember putting next to his post titles how many comments there were (most have it at the end). Both those guys have strategically recommended and reviewed different things just raking in commissions with their traffic. They actively work on "converting" their traffic into dollars in every way possible.
A Brand: Successful bloggers have built their blog in to a brand that you would know anywhere. Shoemoney's got his blue Superman logo that you would know anywhere, and Probloggers "atom P" logo stands out as well. I noticed that John Chow only recently got a nice looking "JC" logo for his blog as well. John Chow has his famous "Make Money Online" eBook, Shoemoney just did Elite Retreat and own "Shoemoney Media", Problogger helps fun "B5 Media". For these top-notch bloggers their blogs have become household names and "brands" known by thousands yearning for online success. These three have even taken those brands to the next level and created million dollar companies.
Authority: The "top bloggers" have authority, and I don't just mean 'Technorati authority' either. If I told you to put "widget x" on your site you may or may not - but when an A-list blogger recommends it, it must be "the next big thing". The more successful you are the more authority you have with visitors and readers. Especially if you have a track record of useful recommendations, tutorials, help articles, and making money.
Loyal Followers: When you get to the "uber-success" level of blogging you attract 'loyal followers'. These are people that will link to and review and recommend your posts all the time. They will digg you, stumble you, and quote what you write in their posts. They will comment on your site every day and ask lots of questions.
A Successful Niche: Every big-time blogger has something that they're most knowledgable in. It usually has something to do with the success that they've achieved. Whether it's PPC, adsense, affiliate marketing, eBooks, arbitrage, SEO, themes, or plugins - everybody has a niche that they're known for, some have several niches.
So now we've talked about the A-List bloggers and what they have. Without theorizing what they did to get there, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out what you need to do to strive for that level of success. First of all you have to snap yourself out of the notion that blogging will "get you rich quick". That's just not going to happen. Did you ever watch any of those "Driven" shows that aired on Mtv the last few years? They were 30 minute shows about ultra-successful musicians and stars. Each program interviewed their family, colleagues, and friends to try and find out why they were so "driven" to success. Even though each episode was about a different successful person - the qualities in nearly every episode rang true.
"(they) wanted to do this since they were a child..." "(they) tirelessly worked until they got it right..." "(they) were perfectionists..." "(they) were passionate about their work..." "(they) cared about other people..." "(they) ate and slept their work 24 hours a day..."
I'm sure a lot of the same qualities ring true with very successful bloggers. What you have to ask yourself first is - if you want to be that successful, are you willing to have that kind of commitment to it? Because if you don't, than telling you the steps required to get there is fruitless. You're (and I) aren't A-List bloggers because we haven't created a plan to get us there. Along the lines of the "7 Habits of Highly Successul People - I give to you...
7 Habits of Highly Successful Bloggers
Become known for something people remember: Constantly blog about your successes and failures and something will boil up to the surface. Whether it's a particular article series, being an expert in an area, making extraordinary money in a particular area, software, online tooks, video, hacks - you can and will stand out once you become known for something that makes you stand out. When you find that certain "thing" be sure to key in on it.
Find your blogging voice: I think very few bloggers find their "blogging voice". Involve your readers in every aspect of your success and failure. Tell them about sites you own and what you're working on. Blog about where you live and your family. Mention your hobbies every now and again. Give people insight into why you do what you do. Describe everything in great detail. Write your posts as if you had a person right in front of you and you were talking to them in person. Always be honest, and never pretend to be somebody or something that you're not.
Constantly Build Traffic But Plan to Convert it Now: The worst thing you can do is post and post and post to get readers but make no plans to monetize or convert traffic once you get it. Obviously you're blogging to make money and you wish you had more traffic than you do now. If you had 10,000 visitors per day how would you make more money with that? Would you offer an eBook chock full of how you make money and lots of affiliate links? Would you sell more ads? What kind of ads and where would you place them? How would you manage them? Would you use adsense or not? What about clickbank products or software of some kind? To be successful you have to constantly visualize the success and plan the road to get there. Start treating your site as if you had 10,000 visitors so you don't have to "figure it out someday". If you're not working on this now, than maybe you don't believe you ever will get to that level.
Create a Brand: Your brand represents who you are, what you're knowledgeable in, and why people should remember you. This is possibly the most important thing you have to do if you are planning for success. Here's short checklist of 'branding' items:
Create a "favicon" (google it) to brand your page every time it loads in a browser
Create "brand name" that you will forever use. "Shoemoney", "Problogger", "Make Money Online" - you know who these all belong to. Create a short and descriptive name that you will forever use on every comment form and forum post you make, and that will be on every single page of your web site
Create a "catch phrase" or slogan for your site. Again - "keywords" are key here...
Create some kind of graphical "logo" that people will recognize the instant they see it...
Combine that logo and brand name into a 125x125 ad that can become your profile pic, avatar, gravatar in every place you are a member of (mybloglog, entrecard, blogcatalog, bumpzee, youtube, myspace, linkedin, facebook, google, yahoo, etc...)
Become an "Authority": Believe it or not you can become an "authority" in anything. Read, Research, Work, and Document what you are doing all the time. Blog about success and failure. Write an "article series" on something you do really well. When you're done release it as a "free eBook" and maybe even give Private Label Rights to it for exposure. As long as you have articles and posts to back it up you can easily highlight or feature yourself as an "authority" in your niche.
Create a Following: Successful bloggers already have a following, but you have to build your "congregation" up yourself until you get to that level. It's easy to build a following if you work at it every day. Do this by commenting on other blogs insightfully, post in forums diligently, offer to help other bloggers, offer to guest post, accept guest postings, submit to article directories, become active in digg, blogCatalog, stumble upon, or any other community. To create a following is no different than building a church congregation, politicking, or promoting. You just have to "get out there" and network! Ask for help, offer to help, talk to people, comment on your own comments on your site - and you will make friends, meet people, network with other bloggers, attract advertisers and start to build your following!
Find a Niche: To become successful you obviously have to be good at something, and the quicker you can focus in on what that "something" is the quicker you will be successful. No one can be an expert in everything. Focus on what you know, what you like, what interests you, and what you're passionate about. This is the last of the 7 habits because it ties it all together. Without a niche you won't build authority, or followers, or a solid brand, etc. Keep in mind that you can have several niches as well, but usually it's easier to master one, and then use that to branch out to others. Become the best you can be at one thing first before branching out and taking on the world. Your path to success will be quicker, you will be more confident, and you can use both the money and the traffic to more rapidly build the next next. This is how successful companies all over the world have grown from "mom and pop" shops to global organizations.
Work to become an "A-List Blogger" every day, and eventually you will become one!
Most bloggers use amateur blogs as opposed to professionals, though I am not sure what a 'professional' blog is. If you are blogging for profit, whether as an amateur or professional, then you are best advised to run your blog from your own website. This involves downloading the blogging software to your web space.
This however is a personal opinion, and many people prefer the simplicity of operating their blog from a blog host such as Blogger, run from Blogspot, or Wordpress from Wordpress.com. There is little to do other than to register and make your posts. The only negative is a lack of individuality and formatting of the look of the blog and the tools that you can use on it.
The majority of people who use the internet for fun, as opposed to business, believe that they have few opportunities to make money from their blog. Their blog is to communicate with others, and to express their views online in a way that was not possible prior to around the turn of the millennium. Sure, blogs were in existence before then, but mainly in specialized applications, and it was sometime between 1998 and 2001 that blogging changed from personal diaries of internet 'experts' to what we now regard blogging as being.
However, anyone who has a blog (reminds me of a Cilla Black song) can use it to make money, or if that is against your ethos of using the internet for fun, then to 'cover your expenses' as our councillors, governors and other governmental individuals like to express it! As they do, you can cover your expenses very, very well if you utilize the monetization possibilities of blogs as they can be used.
To repeat, in order to do so to the maximum of your ability, you must run your blog from your own web host. Most amateur blogs are created using Blogger from the Blogspot site or Wordpress from Wordpress.com, but if you can run your blog from your own website, then you have a lot more flexibility in the content of your blog than otherwise.
In fact you get many more benefits other than the possibility of profit by uploading blogging software to your web space (I am now going to use the term 'website' for web space since that is more familiar to most people, though the terms mean different things). If your blogging software is to your own website rather than that that of a blog provider such as Blogger or Wordpress, you have a lot more flexibility in how you want to format your blog, and in the features contained within it.
Let's look at what you get if you upload Wordpress, for example, to your own website. In order to do so you must have control over a MySQL database, that most good web hosts provide, and know how to use an ftp program. Otherwise it is plain sailing to upload the software. What you get is the ability to edit the CSS and HTML that determine the content and appearance of your blog posts, your sidebars, headers and footers. An immediate obvious benefit of this is the ability to add Adsense blocks that bring income to your blog.
Another is the possibility of adding links to any affiliate products you are promoting, and in fact links to anything you want your visitors to link to. These could include your websites or other blogs, in addition to adverts of various kinds. You can offer these in permanent pages, at the start or end of each individual post, or even within posts, though the most effective adverts and Adsense blocks are those included in the sidebars and footers of each post.
Another significant benefit that many bloggers find they get by downloading the software is that they can upload any of thousands of page templates for their blog that are totally editable. You can use Photoshop or a clone to edit the graphics, mainly the header, to customize it exactly for you, and can also edit the entire html to render the template unique to you. That is not possible with a blog hosted by the blog provider.
You can add any of thousands of widgets to your blog, another facility not open to you if you run a provider hosted blog. These widgets range from automatic SEO, thru auto XML site-map generation to blog pinging and literally any feature you could wish for. It is the ideal medium to advertise your product or service, and make money while you sleep or when you are on vacation. Imagine waking up in the morning, checking your bank balance, and finding a lot more there than when you went to bed!
That is blogging for profit, and it is not difficult. Amateur blogs can be used for profit as well as the professional blogs. There is no distinction if you are hosting your own blog. You can make money 24/7 while you sleep, and your widgets can also include an opt-in form that builds up your email list from those that are interested in your product or niche, but not quite ready to purchase. Keep in touch with them while you sell to others.
That is one great benefit of blogging.
One of Pete's great interests is the use of blogs to entertain, educate and to make money, and his webpage Create A Blog provides more benefits of hosting your own blog in addition to showing you exactly how to set up your own blog and to make money from it.
Today, blogging has become a very popular thing to utilize online. There are actually people out there that are making a large income online from just using blogs alone. The reason for this is because blogs are easy to use, set up and are free to use as well. What's better then starting a business with no money down right?
Blogging has really come a long way since it first started out on the internet. A while back ago blogs were mainly used for personal use. People would post in their blogs as if it was their journal, but a journal online that they would like to share with others. A blog could and can be about any topic these days.
It's very easy to set up a blog. If you own a MySpace or a face book then you should be a professional at setting up a blog because it is much easier to use then those other sites. So you may be wondering how exactly you can make money from a blog. Well very easily! The first thing you need to know about is how to monetize your blog to be ready for many people to start reading. You need to choose a topic that you would like to talk about in your blog and then add some content about it.
If you do not like to write your own content then you can head on over to a free article directory such as Go Articles or Ezine Articles and you can reprint articles for free there. Just make sure that the articles you choose are on topic for your blog.
Next, you will be selling affiliate products on your blog to make money. Affiliate products are ones that you can sell in order to make a commission off of it. You can find a whole directory of these products in ClickBank or Commission Junction.
Another way to make money from your blog is with Google Adsense. These are Google ads that you can place on your blog. Whenever someone clicks on one of the ads on your blog you will get paid per click.
I hope that I have taught you today something you didn't already know. If this was useful then I hope you can get started immediately to join in on the fun with making money from blogs. Always remember that without dedication you will never get started.

Leisure Audio Books Home Business Opportunity Review
Leisure Audio Books is working for me as I write!
I recently became a member of Leisure Audio Books, and I want to share my humble opinion with you today.
This is like nothing I have ever experienced before, I was shocked to find that is totally unique, never
seen before, and I believe it to be revolutionary, and I'll explain why.
In my past experience, you join a typical program, they give you some cheesy promo tools, and they never say a word to you, they
just expect you to go out and recruit as best you can on your own...
This is totally and utterly different.
First of all, the products rock, there's a huge selection of topics on virtually any niche you can think of... all delivered in
licenced .wma or Real format, so anyone with a computer, an iPod, or mp3 player can instantly enjoy these fine audio books, at their
leisure...
Second, you don't have to recruit, to earn nice money, you can simply sell these real products to real people, and they will be glad to have them to listen to...
Third, the commissions you can earn, are much higher than normal, and I really like that.
Fourth, it's so easy to set up
a website and dominate any niche you choose, because the training is so good, it makes it easy to get started right away.
Fifth, I don't have any of the order filling problems, of offering a real product,
Leisure Audio Books, has it handled, for me. Lucky me;~)
With Leisure Audio Books, I feel at completely at ease offering anyone hi quality hi fidelity products and the diversity is
astounding! They have over 6000 titles meticulously sorted into 160 categories in a feature- packed store.
I had no
idea know that there are at least 50,000 identifiable niche markets that can be independently addressed in the search engines for audio books! I do know now and I am out there selling... and for the first time it is working!!!
Plus it's a huge relief to
have the experts, Rod and Kevin helping me succeed, I almost feel like I have a huge "cheat" over everyone else, because I'm a part of a caring organization, who really coach, and really train, and really want me, and you, to succeed, no matter what the skill level.
So, I would have to sum it up like this, if you're tired of an endless line of hype, smoke and mirrors, and you'd like to gain
traction, start making a financial difference in your family's lifestyle, and have a legitimate, honest, real way to make money
online...you owe it to yourself to check out Leisure Audio Books.
Don't believe me, I'm a happy member, and of course I'm biased, so do a check on Rod and Kevin, and I'm sure you'll find the truth is that they are for real, and these are great products that virtually sell themselves.
I recommend that you see for yourself - GO RIGHT NOW, and take in the information presented on the website: http://22554.leisureaudiosales.com

Feature Article: Make the Leap to Affiliate Marketing Success
Make the Leap to Affiliate Marketing Success by Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
If you are going to become a successful affiliate on the Internet, you need 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come
from WITHIN you.
===> Intangible 1 <===
First, you must have a strong WHY.
Why must you make affiliate
marketing work? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?
For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in this business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.
===> Intangible 2 <===
You must BELIEVE that it is possible.
If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to make money with affiliate programs or make your living on the Internet, you won't. It's that simple.
For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money
online. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.
There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money online with
affiliate programs. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money online with affiliate programs.
I've always said that "affiliate marketing" is the job of the future. In the "old" days, you had to go to a potential employer,
apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. Believe me, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.
Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with affiliate marketing.
That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is the Internet is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.
The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start an affiliate marketing business. You simply have to start one.
This is what I call "Making the Leap."
The good news is that the cost of failure on the Internet is very small. In the
"brick and mortar" world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100. The
Plug-In Profit Site is a great example of this.
You simply need get IN THE GAME... Each moment that you stay "out there," you're wasting valuable time that you could be learning and skills necessary to become a successful affiliate marketer. In fact, if you're not in the game yet, you're ALREADY behind the times. Make the leap to becoming a successful affiliate marketer today!
